The Brazilian government welcomed the news of the opening of the Saudi Arabian market for Brazilian exports of seeds of various species.
The Saudi market shows great potential due to its growing demand for seed imports, driven by a program to develop greenhouse vegetable production.
In 2023, the Brazilian agribusiness sector sold more than $250 million in seeds (47,000 tons) in the global market, benefiting over 120 countries.
Saudi Arabia is the 11th largest destination for Brazilian agricultural products, with exports totaling $2.93 billion last year.
This market opening is the result of joint efforts between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) and the Ministry of Livestock and Agriculture (MAPA).
