Operation "Raízes do Cedro": 13th repatriation flight for Brazilian citizens from Lebanon
The 13th flight repatriating Brazilians from Lebanon took off today, November 26 at 1:07 pm (Brasilia local time) from Beirute International Airport, and is scheduled to land in São Paulo in the early hours of Wednesday, November 27.
Aboard the Brazilian Air Force KC30 aircraft operating the flight are 150 passengers, including one infant and one pet. As the largest initiative to repatriate Brazilians from a conflict zone, the Operation "Raízes do Cedro" has evacuated 2662 people and 34 pets from Lebanon.
Upon arrival in Guarulhos, the operation also has the support of the Ministries of Justice and Public Security, of Development, Social Assistance, Family and Fight against Hunger (MDS), and of Health, the Federal Police, the Federal Revenue Service and the Federal Highway Police.
The Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Brazilian Embassy in Beirut, is in contact with Brazilians and their close relatives to provide them with consular assistance and to help them purchasing tickets from Middle East Airlines, which is operating 26 daily flights from Beirut. Following negotiations with the Embassy of Brazil in Beirute, the airline is giving priority to passengers holding Brazilian passports on their flights to Madrid, Frankfurt, London and Rome. Passengers are responsible for booking and purchasing their own tickets.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs consular service remains available if needed: +55 (61) 98260-0610 (with WhatsApp).
