PRESS RELEASE NO. 43
The Brazilian Government is pleased to announce that the Governments of South Korea and Vietnam have authorized the import of new agricultural products from Brazil.
In South Korea, the government approved the import of poultry feathers, which is expected to expand commercial opportunities for Brazilian agribusiness. This product has a range of industrial applications, including the manufacture of pillows, cushions, bedding, and upholstery, as well as serving as a raw material for thermal and acoustic insulation. In 2024 alone, South Korea imported USD 2.9 billion worth of Brazilian agribusiness products.
In Vietnam, the country’s sanitary authority has confirmed authorization for the import of pet food containing animal-origin ingredients. Last year, Brazil exported USD 3.9 billion in agribusiness products to Vietnam.
These negotiations reflect the Brazilian Government’s commitment to diversifying its export portfolio and strengthening Brazil’s trade relations with various partners. For the importing countries, opening their markets to Brazilian products provides benefits such as access to high-quality goods with international certification, reinforcing supply chains and contributing to economic development and food security.
With these announcements, Brazilian agribusiness reaches its 15th market opening in 2025, totaling 315 new business opportunities since the beginning of 2023.
These results stem from the joint efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa).
