Official visit to Brazil by the President of Croatia, Zoran Milanović – Brasília, June 3rd, 2024
The President of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, is visiting Brazil on June 1 to 6. On Monday, June 3rd, the Croatian president will be hosted by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for a bilateral meeting and a luncheon at the Itamaraty Palace.
The two presidents will discuss key aspects of the bilateral relationship, including trade and cooperation opportunities in the fields of education, culture, energy, science, technology and innovation. They will also address the main challenges facing the international agenda, including the war in Ukraine, the crisis in Gaza and the situation in the Balkans. President Zoran Milanović will also visit the cities of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, where he will hold meetings with local authorities and members of the croatian diaspora.
In 2023, bilateral trade totaled $91.5 million, with a Brazilian surplus of $46.7 million. In the first four months of 2024, trade surplus was in favor of Brazil. Brazilian exports totaled $1.7 million, na increase of 92.9% compared to the same period in 2023.
