Minister Antonio de Aguiar Patriota to visit Morocco – Rabat, September 5, 2011
Minister Antonio de Aguiar Patriota will visit Morocco on September 5 for a working meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Morocco, Taïeb Fassi Fihri.
The visit aims at strengthening political dialogue with Morocco, as well as addressing issues related to trade and bilateral cooperation. They will also discuss affairs in the international agenda, in particular the situation in North Africa and in the Middle East.
Minister Patriota’s visit takes place at a favorable moment in the bilateral relationship, marked by the intensification, since 2008, of high level visits and by the growing diversification of bilateral cooperation.
Morocco is an important interlocutor in the Arab world and one of the main Brazilian trade partners in Africa, with trade exchange exceeding USD 1 billion (USD 1.65 billion in 2008 and 1.37 billion in 2010). In 2011, only between January and July, trade exchange between Brazil and Morocco reached USD 981.3 million.
