Massacre in the Haitian locality of Cité Soleil

The Brazilian government was deeply saddened to learn of the massacre perpetrated by a criminal group last weekend in the Haitian area of Cité Soleil, where more than 180 people were killed.

The Brazilian government expresses its condolences to the families of the victims, its solidarity with the Haitian people and calls on international society, with a sense of urgency, to contribute to the efforts of the Haitian transitional government in matters of public security, economic development and social pacification.
