PRESS RELEASE NO. 446
Market openings in Angola, Australia, South Korea, and Russia
The Brazilian government welcomed the announcements of health approvals made by Angola and South Korea for the import of yerba mate from Brazil, and by Russia for the import of ovine embryos.
These market openings will help increase trade flow with these three important destinations and reaffirm international confidence in Brazil's health control system.
In the first eight months of 2024, Brazil exported nearly $3 billion in agricultural products to these three countries. South Korea is the 12th-largest destination for Brazilian exports, amounting to $1.87 billion. Exports to Russia totaled $847 million by August and $245 million to Angola.
With these new authorizations, the Brazilian agribusiness sector obtained its 122th market opening tin 2024, totaling 200 openings across 59 destinations since the beginning of 2023.
These openings are the result of joint efforts between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa).
