PRESS RELEASE N. 139
El Salvador opens its market for Brazilian exports of eggs and poultry meat
The Brazilian government welcomed the announcement by the government of El Salvador of a sanitary approval authorizing Brazil to export eggs and poultry meat to that country.
This opening should contribute to increasing trade flow between the two countries and is another demonstration of international confidence in Brazil's sanitary control system.
The access to these two new markets adds to El Salvador’s approval, announced early in March, of Brazilian exports of gelatin and collagen derived from skins of bovine, porcine and other ruminant animals.
In 2023, agricultural exports to El Salvador totaled $137 million. Main itens were cereals and forest products.
This market opening is the result of joint efforts between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) and the Ministry of Livestock and Agriculture (MAPA).
