Death of Brazilian teenager in Lebanon
The Brazilian government has learned, with great sorrow and deep concern, of the death of the Brazilian teenager Mirna Raef Nasser, in southern Lebanon. Mirna Raef Nasser, aged 16, was born in Balneário Camboriú, Santa Catarina. According to the family’s account, the teenager and her father, a Lebanese national, were struck by an airstrike on their home on Monday, September 23.
This marks the second Brazilian casualty from the intense Israeli airstrikes in the region. The Brazilian Embassy in Beirut is providing assistance to the teenager's family.
In extending its heartfelt condolences to the family, the Brazilian government strongly condemns the ongoing Israeli airstrikes on civilian areas in Lebanon and reiterates its urgent call for all parties involved to immediately cease hostilities.
