PRESS RELEASE NO.439
Death of a Brazilian Minor in Lebanon
The Brazilian government has learned, with profound sorrow, of the death of Brazilian teenager Ali Kamal Abdallah in the Bekaa Valley, Lebanon. Ali Kamal Abdallah, aged 15, was originally from Foz do Iguaçu. The minor and his father, a Paraguayan national, were victims of an explosion resulting from intense Israeli airstrikes in the region on Monday. The Brazilian Embassy in Beirut is providing assistance to the minor's family. The father also succumbed to injuries from the explosion.
In expressing solidarity with the family, the Brazilian government strongly condemns the ongoing Israeli airstrikes on densely populated civilian areas in Lebanon and reiterates its urgent call for the immediate cessation of hostilities by all parties involved.
