Brazilian citizens injured in southern Lebanon
The Brazilian government expresses its indignation and condemns the bombing in Saddikine, southern Lebanon, on June 1st, which injured three Brazilian citizens. They are receiving medical treatment in the Lebanese-Italian Hospital, in the city of Tyre. The event occurred in the context of attacks by the Israeli armed forces in southern Lebanon and by Hezbollah in northern Israel. The Brazilian Embassy in Beirut is in contact with family members and the medical team and is providing consular support.
Since the onset of the conflict between Israel and Palestine, the Embassy in Beirut has monitored and maintained regular contact with Brazilians residents in southern Lebanon.
Brazil urges all parties involved in the hostilities to exercise maximum restraint, as well as to respect human rights and humanitarian law, so as to prevent the conflict in Gaza from spreading and to avoid other innocent civilian victims.
