The Brazilian Government submitted a new proposal for regulations on investment facilitation to the World Trade Organization on July 6.
The text, which complements the original proposal that circulated in 2018, aims at improving transparency of investment measures, and efficiency and simplification of the administrative framework. The Brazilian Government hopes that the new proposal will help to advance plurilateral negotiations on the subject.
The future investment facilitation agreement at the WTO could play a decisive role in promoting investment in the post-pandemic era.
