Brazil condemns Jerusalem synagogue attack

The Brazilian Government vehemently condemns the attack which took place on November 18 in a synagogue in West Jerusalem, which claimed the lives of five Israelis and left eight people injured.

At this moment of sorrow and dismay, the Brazilian Government and people express their solidarity with the mourning families.

Brazil reiterates its categorical condemnation of terrorist acts, whatever their motivation. The Brazilian Government trusts in the capacity of the Israeli and Palestinian leaderships to reduce the tension in the region and return to the peace negotiations.

Brazil reaffirms its support for a solution based on two states, Israel and Palestine, co-existing in peace and security within mutually agreed and internationally recognised borders.
