Beginning of the Brazilian Presidency of the India, Brazil and South Africa Dialogue Forum - IBSA
Brazil assumed on March 2, 2023, the rotating presidency of the India, Brazil, South Africa Dialogue Forum - IBSA. Comprising three democratic, multiethnic and multicultural countries, the grouping completes 20 years in 2023.
The Brazilian Government gives priority to IBSA in the present international context. The group is in an ideal position to contribute to the construction of a more just and representative international order, with respect to International Law and the peaceful solution of conflicts.
The Brazilian Presidency will seek to strengthen IBSA in its three pillars: political coordination, trilateral cooperation and cooperation with other developing countries, through the IBSA Fund. Internationally awarded, the Fund has already financed projects in more than 30 countries.
In 2024, the three countries will make up the G20 troika. The confluence of the Indian (2023), Brazilian (2024), and South African (2025) presidencies of the G20 will create new opportunities for concerted action and cooperation in the most diverse areas.
