Agrément granted to Ambassador-designate of Brazil to Canada

The Brazilian government is pleased to inform that the Government of Canada has granted its agrément to the appointment of Ambassador Carlos Alberto Franco França as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil.

Ambassador Carlos Alberto Franco França was Minister of Foreign Affairs (2021-2022), Chief Advisor at the Special Advisory Office of the Presidency of the Republic (2020-2021) and Chief of Protocol of the Presidency of the Republic (2019-2020). This is his first appointment as head of an overseas post.

According to the Constitution, this designation will be submitted to the Federal Senate for consideration.
