2nd Meeting of Brazil-United States High Level Dialogue – Washington , May 20th
The 2nd edition of the Brazil-United States High-Level Dialogue will take place in Washington, D.C., on May 20. The meeting will be co-chaired by the Secretary-General of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Maria Laura da Rocha, and the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, Kurt Campbell.
This meeting occurs just days before Brazil and the United States celebrate the bicentennial of their diplomatic relations on May 26. The meeting is in line with the directive to renew Brazil-U.S. relations following the meeting between Presidents Lula and Joe Biden in February 2023.
The delegations from both governments will discuss strengthening global, regional and bilateral cooperation on issues such as international governance reform, democracy, human rights, gender equality, energy, supply chains, economic growth, the environment, health, science and technology, and security.
The United States is Brazil's second largest trading partner, with trade flow amounting to $74.9 billion in 2023. The United States is also the largest importer of Brazilian manufactured goods and the largest source of foreign direct investment in Brazil, totaling over $206.2 billion.
