Visiting rules
Visitation to the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Gardens is regulated by Portaria nº 85, de 27 de abril de 2021, Portaria nº 91, de 11 de junho de 2021, and Portaria nº 108, de 17 de setembro de 2021.
They are based on the guidelines of the competent bodies, which, by decision of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), are the State Government and the City of Rio de Janeiro.
Arboretum
Daily from 8am to 5pm.
Conveniences:
Green Garden
Daily from 8am to 5pm.
AAJB Store
Daily from 8am to 5pm.
Park Garden
Monday and Tuesday, and Thursday through Sunday, from 8am to 5pm..
- The Visitor Center is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Guided walking tour services
- Weekends and holidays, at 9am, 10am, 2pm, and 3pm.

Electric Trolley
- Circular transport
Monday and Tuesday, and Thursday through Sunday, from 8am to 5pm.
- Premium tour
Monday and Tuesday, and Thursday through Sunday, from 8 AM to 5 PM.
The children's playground and insectivorous plant greenhouse are temporarily closed for construction. The cactarium greenhouses are closed to avoid crowding
Please observe the rules:
- Entry and exit through the access of Rua Jardim Botânico, 1008, and Rua Jardim Botânico, 920 (Saturdays, Sundays and holidays). The other accesses are closed.
- Tickets may be purchased in advance on the website, with payment by credit card and pix, or in cash at the box office.
- Once you have purchased a ticket, you can stay at the Botanical Garden until closing time, that is, until 5 PM.
- Snacks are allowed only at the tables in the playground and in the cafes.
- Wash your hands before and after each activity.
- Follow breathing etiquette in case of coughing or sneezing, covering nose and mouth with your arm.

- Attend to the orientation of the BJRJ's staff - they have been trained to help protect everyone's health.
