Vinicius Cantuária performs at Domingo no Jardim on March 24th

Singer, composer and instrumentalist Vinícius Cantuária presents his latest work, "Vinicius canta Tom", at the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden, as part of the Domingo no Jardim series, on March 24 at 11 a.m., with the participation of pianist David Feldman.  His repertoire will also include some of his hits, such as Lua e Estrela, Só Você, Coisa Linda and Cheio de Amor.

The performance at the Jardim Botânico was initially scheduled for January, but had to be postponed due to the heavy rains that hit the city and the metropolitan region at the time.

Dedicated to the work of Tom Jobim, Cantuária's new work, released in the United States, Europe and Japan, is a critical success and was placed among the 20 reference albums of Tom Jobim's work by Folha de São Paulo.

In addition to his own albums, Vinicius Cantuária's songs have been recorded by big names from a wide range of MPB genres, such as Gal Costa, Evandro Mesquita, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Simone, Fábio Jr, Chico Buarque, Tim Maia, Fagner, Elba Ramalho, Frejat, Ritchie and Leoni. Living in the United States, the musician has composed and recorded with David Byrne, Sean Lennon, Angelique Kidjo, Bill Frisell, Naná Vasconcelos, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Norah Jones and Laurie Anderson, among others.

Vinicius has also composed film and TV scores and has performed in the United States, Europe, Japan, China and Australia at major festivals, including the renowned Umbria Jazz, Montreal Jazz, London Jazz, NY Winter Jazz, North Sea Jazz, Toronto Jazz, Vancouver Jazz and at the world's leading jazz clubs, such as the Blue Note in NY, Tokyo, Nagoya, Milan, Rio and Beijing, at Ronnie Scott's (London) and at theaters such as the Barbican and the Queen Elizabeth Hall (London), and the Sydney Opera House in Australia.

About to release a new album in the USA, Europe and Japan, "Psychedelic Rio" - a reading of some of his own compositions and classics of Brazilian music with a heavier sound, Vinicius is now starting a project aimed at his Brazilian audience, bringing together part of his work produced here with his work produced in the United States.

The concert in Rio de Janeiro's Botanical Garden will take place in front of the bust of Dom João. The performance is free. Visitors only pay the entrance fee to the arboretum.

In the event of rain, the show will be moved to the Galpão das Artes, next to Lago das Tartarugas.
