Sunday in the Garden: The music of Tom and Aldir in the piano and voice of Paulo Malaguti Pauleira and Augusto Martins

In a minimalist piano and voice format, the duo formed by Paulo Malaguti Pauleira and Augusto Martins presents the show A música de Tom e Aldir at Domingo no Jardim. After their first meeting on the album Piano, voz e Jobim, the duo released the album Como canções e epidemias, this time paying homage to Aldir Blanc, both of which were praised by specialized critics. The repertoire includes "Samba do avião" (Tom Jobim), "Caça à foxa" (João Bosco and Aldir Blanc), "Resposta ao tempo" (Cristóvão Bastos and Aldir Blanc), "Luiza" (Tom Jobim), "Insensatez" (Tom and Vinicius de Moraes), "O bêbado e a equilibrista" (João Bosco and Aldir Blanc), among others.

With his deep timbre, tonal range and elegant improvisations, Augusto Martins is a carioca who knows how to mix the swing of samba circles with the classicism of singing lessons. He has released eight albums, with guest appearances by names such as Ivan Lins, Beth Carvalho, Seu Jorge, Yamandu Costa and Leila Pinheiro. Composer, arranger, pianist and singer, Paulo Malaguti Pauleira founded the groups Céu da Boca and Arranco de Varsóvia. Since 2013, he has been a member of MPB-4. He has played with Simone, Adriana Calcanhoto and Nana Caymmi.

The performance is free (visitors only pay for the ticket to the arboretum) and takes place at 11 a.m. In the event of rain, the performance will be moved to the Galpão das Artes.
