Sunday in the Garden presents the Ribeira Quartet
Quarteto da Ribeira will be performing at Domingo no Jardim on October 6. Made up of two accordions, electric bass, voice and percussion, the group will perform a varied repertoire of Brazilian songs, including choro, forró and tango. The quartet is made up of musicians Rodrigo Sebastian de Moraes Abramovitz, Lucianne (Lulu) Antunes, Bia Gouvêa and Sandro Lustosa.
Rodrigo Abramovitz (electric bass) is a member and one of the founders of the Acorda Bamba group. He has been a member of the bloco Céu na Terra since 2002. He also plays as an instrumentalist in groups such as Empolga às 9, Brinquedos Cantados do Céu na Terra, Orquestra Sanfônica do Rio de Janeiro, among others.
Lucianne (Lulu) Antunes is a pianist, singer, accordionist and choral conductor. She conducts the choirs Rio em Canto, O Coro Come and Coral do Museu da República, and is a member of the Orquestra Sanfônica do Rio de Janeiro, the female forró trio Cantos da Fulô and the Piano Tropical Trio.
Bia Gouvêa has been a member of the Vox Mundi School of Education and Vocal Arts since 2002 and the Rio de Janeiro Symphony Orchestra.
Sandro Lustosa is part of Duo Cafuzo, alongside Glaucus Linx, with whom he recently released the album Conselho dos Guardiões. He performed on the DVD El Caminos del Cajón, alongside great musicians such as Paco de Lucia, Angá Diáz, among others.
The performance will take place at 11 a.m., in front of the bust of Dom João, and is free of charge. Visitors only pay for entry to the arboretum. In the event of rain, it will be transferred to the Galpão das Artes.
