Sunday in the Garden presents recital by violinist Maria Haro
Aviolonist Maria Haro is the star of the Domingo no Jardim series on September 15. Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, and naturalized Brazilian, Maria Haro has recorded, as a soloist and chamber musician, works by various Brazilian composers, such as Nicanor Teixeira, Arthur Verocai, Ricardo Tacuchian, Cláudio Santoro, among others. Naturalized in Brazil, she has participated in some albums, such as “Fina flor - Maria Haro interpreta Nicanor Teixeira” and “Orquestra de Violões do Rio de Janeiro”. In 2022, she released “Maria Haro interprets Ravi Sawaya”, an EP with six songs by the composer, on digital platforms. Since March 2023, together with Marco Lima, she has been curating the “Violões em Copa” series of guitar concerts at the Espaço Abu cultural center in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro.
The performance is free, in front of the bust of Dom João, at 11am. Visitors only pay for entry to the arboretum. In the event of rain, it will be transferred to the Galpão das Artes.
