Sunday in the Garden presents Luz de Candeeiro group
The sound of the accordion and the rhythm of the arrasta-pé come to liven up Domingo no Jardim. On the 10th, the Luz de Candeeiro group will bring to Rio de Janeiro's Botanical Garden a repertoire that values regional Brazilian music. The group includes soprano and composer Maria Souto, accordion player Joana Araújo, drummer and percussionist Georgina Camara and actress and musician Marcela Coelho. The performance features compositions by Chiquinha Gonzaga, Waldir Azevedo, Dominguinhos and Gilberto Gil, among others.
The concert is free, in front of the bust of Dom João, at 11am. Visitors only pay the entrance fee to the arboretum. In the event of rain, the performance will be moved to the Galpão das Artes.
