Rio de Janeiro Metropolitan Region's water supply system is the subject of World Water Day lecture

To mark World Water Day, the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden is promoting a lecture entitled “Water supply system in the Rio de Janeiro Metropolitan Region”, to be given by architect Robson Coutinho, a specialist in Sanitary and Environmental Engineering. The presentation will take place in the auditorium of the Botanical Garden Museum next Monday, the 24th, at 2pm. Robson Coutinho worked for 36 years as an assistant and superintendent in the Operation, Maintenance, Electromechanical and Commercial sectors of the State Water and Sewage Company (Cedae).
On March 22, 1992, the United Nations (UN) created World Water Day. The date was launched during the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, also known as Eco-92, in Rio de Janeiro, as an effort by the international community to put the essential issues surrounding the planet's water resources on the agenda.
The lecture is organized by the Sustainability Subcommittee of the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden.
