Noble Tree Trail is January's attraction at the Rio Botanical Garden
Every Friday in January, the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden is offering guided tours of the Noble Tree Trail. During the tour, 27 of the arboretum's noble species are interpreted, mainly from the Atlantic and Amazon forests, such as brazilwood, kapok, mahogany, imbaúba, among others. The term "noble trees" encompasses the ecological, economic and landscape importance of the species.
The visit starts at 10am, leaving from the Visitor Centre. There's no need to register, just arrive and take part. The interpretive trails guide the public through the visit, with pre-established themes and routes. The activity is free, with only an entrance fee for the arboretum.
