Marcelo Caldi is the musical attraction of Domingo no Jardim on April 28th
Recognized as one of the most important accordion players of his generation, Marcelo Caldi performs in the Domingo no Jardim series this Sunday, April 28, at 11 a.m.
As well as carrying on the precious legacy of masters such as Luiz Gonzaga, Orlando Silveira, Chiquinho do Acordeom, Sivuca, Dominguinhos, Oswaldinho and others, Caldi is also a pianist, composer, symphonic arranger, producer, singer, conductor and musical director.
He has performed as a soloist in concerts with the Petrobras Sinfônica and Sinfônica Cesgranrio orchestras, for which he has also composed unpublished pieces, and with various other symphonies, creating unpublished arrangements for these formations. In 2021, he paid tribute to Dominguinhos' 80th birthday with the Orquestra Sanfônica do Rio de Janeiro, the first in the state, of which he is the founder and conductor.
Marcelo Caldi has already taken his work to countries such as Portugal, France, Italy, Germany and Japan. His albums include “A sanfona é meu dom” (2017), which includes appearances by Yamandu Costa, Hamilton de Holanda, Silvério Pontes, Bebê Kramer and others. He won the Funarte Centenary Prize for Luiz Gonzaga, resulting in the release of the book and album “Tem sanfona no choro”, with the unprecedented publication of instrumental pieces by the king of baião, published by the Moreira Salles Institute (2012).
The concert takes place in front of the bust of King João VI, in the Botanical Garden Arboretum. In the event of rain, the performance will be moved to Galpão das Artes.
