Graduation at the Center for Social and Environmental Responsibility
The 37 graduates of the João Carlos Silva Center for Social and Environmental Responsibility (CRS) in 2023 received their diplomas last Tuesday, December 19, at a ceremony at the National School of Tropical Botany (ENBT).
The event was hosted by the deputy president of the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden, Eliezer Nunes, the director of ENBT, Marinez Ferreira de Siqueira, the head of CRS, Deborah Tavares, Claudio Guenther, president of Stihl Motorized Tools, and Patrícia Lins e Silva, representing Alliança Saúde.
The patron of the class was the civil servant João Carlos Silva, creator of the CRS, who died at the beginning of the year. The paranymph was Mary Elane Silva Galvão and the class speaker was Yuri Queirós. Students Lucas Oliveira and Ester Pedroni, who are in phase 1, paid tribute to their fellow graduates with a guitar and voice performance.
The ceremony also included speeches by graduating student Gabriela Lima and Maria Glória Ducke Paranhos and Carlos Eduardo Matos da Silva, representing the parents.
