Duo Zé Paulo Becker and Fernando Leitzke perform at Sunday in the Garden

Classics of Brazilian music will liven up Domingo no Jardim with a performance by the duo Zé Paulo Becker (guitarist) and Fernando Leitzke (pianist). On May 19, the duo will perform a varied repertoire that mixes compositions by Tom Jobim, Cartola, Sivuca and Chico Buarque with others by their own composers.

The concert takes place at 11 a.m., in the space in front of the bust of D. João VI, and is free of charge, with a ticket only being charged for the arboretum. In the event of rain, the performance will be moved to the Galpão das Artes.

With 16 albums recorded, guitarist Zé Paulo Becker has worked with artists such as Paulo César Pinheiro, Chico Buarque, Milton Nascimento, Ney Matogrosso, Roberta Sá, Elza Soares, Francis Hime, Yamandu Costa, Armandinho, Paulo Moura and Wagner Tiso, among others.

Pianist, composer and arranger Fernando Leitzke released his first album in 2015, "Rios que Navego", which won four prizes in the Instrumental category of the Açorianos Music Prize in 2016. He is currently the director of the group Candombaile Carioca, which focuses on Latin American music.
