Article published in Oryx magazine discusses the importance of the Rio Botanical Garden's cactarium

The article “Cacti in distress: how to enhance ex situ conservation strategies through living collections”, by Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden technologist Thais Moreira Hidalgo de Almeida in partnership with researchers Ariane Peixoto and Diego Gonzaga, was published on October 17 in the journal Oryx.

The work, the result of Thais Moreira's doctoral thesis, looks at the cactus collection and assesses how the collection can continue to contribute to the ex situ conservation of cacti in the future. The article is available at https://doi.org/10.1017/S0030605324000012
