The registered trademark ensures to its owner the right to exclusive use in the national territory in his field of economic activity for ten years as of the date of granting. The registration may be extended for consecutive ten-year periods.
The trademark may be:
- Word mark: the one formed by words, neologisms, and combinations of letters and numbers.
- Figurative mark: formed by drawing, image, ideogram, fantasy or figurative form of letter or figure, and words composed of letters of alphabets such as Hebrew, Cyrillic, Arabic, etc.
- Mixed mark: combine image and word.
- Three-dimensional mark: a three-dimensional trademark may be deemed the form of a product when it is capable of being distinguished from other products.
Collective mark
The collective mark identifies products or services created by members of a certain collective entity (association, cooperative, union, among others). Only this entity may apply for this registration, and it may establish conditions and prohibitions on the use for associates through a regulation of use.
Certification mark
This mark indicates that the products or services are certified by the owner of the trademark as to origin, form of manufacturing, quality, and other characteristics. The certification mark may only be used pursuant to the standards defined in the process.
Highly-renowned mark
There are companies which trademarks are widely known and prestigious in the market. Those are the highly-renowned marks .
