Green Patents
The Green Patents program aims at contributing to global climate change and at speeding up the examination of the patent applications related to technologies directed to the environment.
With this initiative, INPI also enables the identification of new technologies that may be quickly used by the society, stimulating licensing and encouraging innovation in the country.
The pilot program Green Patents was initiated on April 17, 2012, and its third stage ended on April 16, 2016. As of December 6, 2016, INPI started to provide priority examination for applications related to green technologies as a service.

The Program contemplates technologies for alternative energy, transport, energy conservation, waste management, and agriculture. See the expanded list.
