The Pilot Project MPE Patents was a type of priority examination. The patent applications that could participate were those whose applicant was a Micro-Enterprise (ME) or a Small-Sized Company (EPP), as defined in art. 3 of Complementary Law No. 123 of December 14, 2006.
The Project had two purposes. The first purpose was to facilitate the insertion of innovative goods and services developed by the MEI, MEs, and EPPs in the Brazilian market. The second purpose was related to mitigating the negative effects of INPI’s delay in the decision of patent applications for this specific niche of applicants.
The project was composed of 4 stages and became a permanent service. We present below the Resolutions revoked and the results of the Pilot project.
