Certified copies in paper form
The user can also request certified copies for all or a portion of patent applications, upon a specific petition. In this case, the applicant obtains all copies, in paper form, at the headquarters or one of the regional receptions of INPI, at his choice. In order to request the certified copies, the applicant must generate and pay a Federal Revenue payment slip (GRU) related to the service code 825 (Cópia reprográfica autenticada (Certified copy)) and, then, file the application in one of INPI’s receptions or through electronic petitioning .
The fee related to the service at stake covers the supply of copies with up to four (4) pages. If the document requested has more pages, a surplus must be paid per additional page, which will be informed to the applicant, and he shall collect, through a GRU for the service code 800 (Complementação de retribuição (Additional amount of a fee)). The applicant shall evidence the payment of this additional amount, if any, as a result of the obtaining of the copy at the reception.
