Program to Combat Counterfeiting - Directory
The National Directory to Combat Trademark Counterfeiting is a project of the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) and the National Council to Combat Piracy and Crimes against Intellectual Property (CNCP/SENACON/MJSP), included in the National Plan to Combat Piracy (2013-2016) and the Structuring Plan B (Strategic Axis 5) of the National Strategy of Intellectual Property (2020).
Made available to public institutions with police powers, it is an information system with the objective to optimize the tax and administrative procedures in cases in which the public official finds evidence of trademark counterfeiting. On the part of INPI, the Directory is integrated to the Program to Combat Counterfeiting, structured in three thematic axes:
1. Inspection and Repression (aimed at public officials with police power);
2. Economic (aimed at economic agents of innovation: trademark holders and their representatives); and
3. Educational (aimed at the consumer and the civil society).
