Quality Management
The National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) is committed to quality, aware that this is an essential element for the provision of its services, in view of the new challenges arising from the transformation of the society and the demands of citizens. This commitment to quality seems to be inexorably related to the set of general principles to which the public administration must abide, acknowledged in art. 37 of the Brazilian Federal Constitution of 1988. As a result of this commitment, INPI institutionalized the Quality Policy as a guiding principle for the Institution’s Quality Management.
Therefore, the Quality Policy defines the commitment of INPI’s Management to the quality of its services. Aligned with the institutional mission, it aims at guiding INPI in a constant search for management excellence and maximum satisfaction of its users and stakeholders.
Thus, having the Institutional Values as a reference, namely: Efficiency, Focus on Users, Teamwork, Transparency, Ethics, Meritocracy and Appreciation of People, INPI created its Quality Policy based on the following principles:
INPI’S QUALITY POLICY
1. To offer services with efficiency, in a timely manner, and in compliance with the standards established by the current legislation and the international agreements and treaties.
2. To provide systems that allow the maintenance of a continuous and efficient contact with its users, by analyzing their expectations, evaluating their level of perception, and dealing with any complaints received, all in order to ensure maximum satisfaction.
3. To train and value its functional body to achieve institutional objectives, by sharing knowledge, using each one’s expertise, and undertaking shared responsibility for the performance and achievement of goals.
4. To be aligned with good management and governance practices.
These principles serve as a framework for the definition of quality objectives and goals, which shall be evaluated and reviewed from time to time by INPI’s President.
In compliance with the provisions in art. 11 and following of Decree No. 9,094 of July 17, 2017, INPI publishes its List of Services Provided within its scope of competence, with the objective of informing the services provided by the Institute, how to access these services, and the quality commitments and standards for customer service.
In this regard, considering INPI’s participation on the Network of Focal Points of the Direct Investments Ombudsman, in order to support foreign investors through inquiries and questions, pursuant to the Agreement on Cooperation and Facilitation of Investments signed by Brazil with several countries, INPI also publishes the Handbook for Foreign Investors on Intellectual Property, document related to the List of Services Provided.
