Information security
In order to provide greater transparency regarding the management of INPI’s Portal, the General Coordination Office for Information Technology – CGTI informs to the users the measures adopted aiming at information security and maintenance of the Institute’s IT assets. See as follows:
1 - Browser compatible with HTML5 standard
INPI recommends to the users of its systems that they use a browser compatible with HTML5 standard. The systems made available by INPI follow the rule of the latest version of the eMAG, which recommends the use of HTML5, among other standards for web page development.
Access the eMAG3.1 recommendations here.
2 - Certifying authority of INPI
INPI communicates that users must not worry about receiving the message “ESTA CONEXÃO NÃO É CONFIÁVEL” (THIS CONNECTION IS NOT RELIABLE) or “ SUA CONEXÃO NÃO É PARTICULAR” (YOUR CONNECTION IS NOT PRIVATE) upon entering the Institute’s web pages. Just install the certifier of the Brazilian Public Key Infrastructure (ICP-Brasil), pursuant to the booklet below.
3 - Files in the format TXT shall be converted into XML
The files that accompany the Revista da Propriedade Industrial – RPI (INPI’s Gazette) in the sections Contratos de Tecnologia (Technology Contracts), Desenhos Industriais (Industrial Drawings), Patentes (Patents), and Programas de Computador (Computer Programs) shall be converted from TXT to XML.
4 - Search robots are dynamically blocked
INPI alerts that the use of robots for search and access to INPI’s databases is subject to dynamic blocking.
5 - Annual calendar for maintenance with possibility of scheduled shutdown
INPI provided the 2021 calendar for maintenance of its Portal, which may be shut down on scheduled days, always from 8 p.m. Friday to 8 p.m. Sunday.
This measure aims at maintaining the infrastructure of information technology and the portal.
In case of doubts, the users must write to the system Fale Conosco, selecting Informática (Information Technology).
