ENAPID discusses the future of Intellectual Property
The 13th Academic Meeting on Intellectual Property, Innovation and Development (ENAPID) started on September 15, aiming at discussing “The Future of Intellectual Property in the Changing World”.
The Coordinator for Integration and Promotion of Intellectual Property and Innovation of INPI, Vinícius Bogéa Câmara, highlighted at the opening ceremony that backlog-free INPI is becoming a reality. In this context, the Institute starts to act more and more in activities such as promoting the creation of intellectual property (IP) in Brazil, with emphasis on the program INPI for Business and mentoring actions. The central role of INPI in the National Strategy for Intellectual Property, launched in 2020, was also highlighted.
Next we had the keynote speech by the Federal Appellate Judge André Fontes, who analyzed the Intellectual Property in the Judiciary Branch.
Still on the first day, the INPI Ombudsman, Davison Menezes, presented INPI perspectives for the post-backlog scenario, highlighting themes such as institutional strengthening, bioeconomy and sustainable development, open innovation, among others. Patrícia Trotte, from the INPI Academy, addressed the insertion of IP in schools, including the creation of an award for educational experiences in this area.
