Open Data
In this section, the Open Data Plan (PDA) is disclosed within the scope of the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI).
Access INPI’s Corporate Open Data Sets and INPI’s Database Inventory, as well as information related to the planning and process of opening of data at the Institute.
INPI, through INPI/PR Ordinance No. 13 of February 8, 2017, established its Open Data Plan (PDA) for the biennium 2017-2018, submitted to the first semi-annual review on August 1st, 2017.
The PDA related to the biennium 2019-2020, on its turn, was published pursuant to INPI/PR Ordinance No. 513 of October 25, 2019, granting publicity to the actions expected for the implementation and promotion of the opening of data under INPI’s responsibility, oriented by the assumptions of the Open Government Partnership (OGP), multilateral initiative among several countries, with Brazil as one of its founders.
The PDA’s general objective is “to promote the opening of data at INPI, ensuring the publicity, transparency, and efficiency principles, aiming at the increase in data and information dissemination to society, as well as the improvement of the quality of data published, in order to give greater support to social control and the decision-making process by public managers”.
The Monitoring Authority for the implementation of the Access to Information Law within the scope of INPI, function currently performed by the Institute’s Ombudsman, according to INPI/PR Ordinance No. 342 of October 29, 2015, shall exercise the following duties, among others:
[a] to monitor the execution of the action plan defined in the PDA;
[b] to guide the administrative units in regard to the compliance with the PDA; and
[c] to present periodic reports on the compliance with the PDA, with recommendations about the measures essential for its implementation and improvement.
