II LIBRARY SOIRÈE: Safeguarding the Memory of INPE

The II Library Soirée invited attendees to reflect on the preservation of memory, in order to build the future of space science in the country by preserving its history, and to reinforce the Library’s importance in the INPE community.
III LIBRARY SOIRÉE: Technology and information: Science transforming society
November 14th, 2006
At the III Library Soirée, researchers shared their experiences of making science, technology, and research accessible to the general public. Their contributions were highlighted, including their involvement in the project that received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005, as well as their scientific collaborations with one of the winners of the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2006.
Furthermore, the INPE Library inaugurated the "Online Library" portal, which serves as a tool for accessing information and promoting integration between users and the information system.
IV LIBRARY SOIRÈE: Exploring the Fascinating World of Science on Earth and Space

The IV Library Soirée recognized authors who have devoted their knowledge to promoting science and technology education for children and teenagers through various channels, including websites, handouts, books, videos, courses, articles, and publications covering topics related to INPE's research areas, such as space and atmospheric sciences, space engineering and technology, remote sensing, meteorology, and physics. These initiatives aim to inspire young people to explore the world of technology and foster their interest in becoming future researchers.

V NATIONAL BOOK AND LIBRARY WEEK: SID and WEB 2.0: new paths for scientific information

The 2008 edition of the National Book and Library Week at INPE was centered around the theme "SID and WEB 2.0: New Paths for Scientific Information". The week's program included a lecture "Academic writing for Web 2.0" as well as several trainings sessions on how to use of the databases available through CAPES's Periodical Portal, a resource for researching scientific and technological publications.

VI NATIONAL BOOK AND LIBRARY WEEK: Scientific production yesterday and today. And tomorrow?

In 2010 the INPE Library celebrated the National Book and Library Week (SNLB) by highlighting the importance of preserving archives and scientific production. Preservation ensures a continuous connection between the past and the present, while preserving scientific production requires a vision for building the future. The library plays a crucial role in leading the way towards the digital world and sharing this intellectual wealth.
VII NATIONAL BOOK AND LIBRARY WEEK : Knowledge Management as a Strategic Resource

In 2011 the Library prompted the Institute to think about Knowledge Management as a strategic resource, given that organizations need to consider and prioritize the creation of a conducive environment for generating, transferring, retaining, and reusing knowledge. The positive outcome is longevity, that is, an organization's ability to survive.
VIII NATIONAL BOOK AND LIBRARY WEEK Academic Plagiarism: a serious, complex and challenging issue

The Library invited the Institute to reflect on the issue of plagiarism, aiming to understand its different types, categories, and levels of occurrence in academic environments and scientific production. Plagiarism is an old and widespread phenomenon in the information society that has been rising due to technological developments.
