The librarian day
INPE library trajectory
March 29th, 2005
The INPE Library was established in 1965 to cater to the technical-scientific community, graduate students, employees of the Institute's management areas, and the wider community outside of INPE. It was envisioned, planned, and founded by Dr. Fernando de Mendonça, who served as the Scientific Director of GOCNAE and later as the General Director of INPE from 1963-1976. Today, the library is recognized for the significance of its collection, the quality of its services, its pioneering efforts in automation, and its contribution to the dissemination of knowledge through seminars held in the 1980's and 1990's.
