FUNAG publishes book about migration and asylum
The Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation has published the book Migration and Asylum: convergences and contradictions among the policies implemented by Brazil in the 21st century , by the diplomat Paulo Gustavo Iansen de Sant’Ana.
The work was originally presented before the LXIV Higher Studies Course of the Rio Branco Institute. The book discusses the relationship between migration and refugee policies in Brazil and its impact on the flow of foreigners into the country, during a period of heightened flow of migrants and refugees globally due to humanitarian crises. In that context, the author provides tools for the Brazilian government to build a governance system able to articulate the actions of different bodies involved with migration and refugee issues.
The book is available in Portuguese for free download from FUNAG’s digital library
