FUNAG announces the result of the 2nd edition of the “Maria José de Castro Rebello Mendes” Award
On Friday, September 20, the Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation announced the result of the 2nd “Maria José de Castro Rebello Mendes” Award. This edition evaluated 48 pieces of work by women students and researchers from all over Brazil on foreign policy and international relations.
Here are the award-winning articles:
- In the “Undergraduate or graduate students” category: “The absolute criminalization of abortion in El Salvador: a case study of its treatment in the inter-American human rights system”, by Júlia Alves Andrade.
- In the “Researchers with a Master’s or Doctorate” category: “The rise of multilateralism in Global Internet Governance”, by Jaqueline Trevisan Pigatto.
In addition to the prize, the selected authors will have their articles published in the journal Cadernos de Política Exterior, published by FUNAG’s International Relations Research Institute (IPRI). The winners will also be invited for an academic visit to the Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The awards ceremony will take place on a date soon to be announced.
The Judging Committee also awarded an honorable mention to the following article:
- In the “Undergraduate or graduate students” category: “Towards COP-30 in Brazil: the role of Brazilian science diplomacy in partnership with the Legal Amazon Consortium”, by Natália Hedlund Jardim.
