DIPLOMACY AND DEFENSE COURSE (CDIPLOD)
Objective
To develop the specific diplomatic competencies required for military and civilian personnel, serving the nation abroad, with emphasis on the interests of National Defense.
Audience
a) civilians appointed by national invited institutions, with possibilities of working as attachés, taking over diplomatic position, carrying out international negotiations or giving advisory in the international area;
b) senior officers of the Armed Forces, preferably holding a Staff Course Certificate, with possibilities of working as military/defense attachés or advisors in the international area of National Defense;
c) Armed Forces officers, who have the possibility of being commissioned in international organs; appointed to peace missions and assigned for courses and other positions abroad; and
d) senior officers of the invited Auxiliary Forces, holding a graduate course degree from their institutions, with possibilities to take over positions in the international area.
Course Organization
CDIPLOD is carried out in the hybrid modality. Three weeks are online learning and two are in-person, with classes from Monday through Friday (from 9:00am to 4:15pm).
The course lasts 5 weeks and the course load is of 112 hrs/year.
CDIPLOD 2025 will be held from August 18 to September 19.
Throughout the course, the students will have the following subjects: Foundations of the International Politics; National Defense; Diplomacy; Military Attaché Offices and International Advisory; and Applied Studies.
