DEFENSE ECONOMICS AND PLANNING COURSE (CEPD)
Objective
To develop competencies for understanding the interrelationships between Defense Planning and Defense Economics, as well as the importance of the Defense Industrial Base within the broader context of international security challenges and rapid technological development.
Audience
a) civilians appointed by invited institutions, state-run or private, national or foreign, preferably, linked to sectors of interest to foster technological and productive autonomy in the area of defense;
b) senior officers of the Armed Forces, preferably holding a Staff Course Certificate and working with activities in centers which develop the Capability Based Planning (CBP) methodology and in Secretaries, Departments, Divisions and Sections related to Defense Products - PRODE; and
c) civilians and senior military personnel of friendly nations, preferably, holding a Staff Course Certificate.
Course Organization
CEPD is carried out in the remote learning modality. Classes are from Tuesday through Thursday (from 9:00am to 12:00pm).
The course lasts 3 weeks and the course load is of 36 hrs/year.
CEPD 2025 will be held from August 12 to 28.
Throughout the course, the students will have the following subjects: Security, Development and Defense; Capability Planning in the Context of a Defense Planning and Management System; and Defense Economics and Defense Industrial Base Governance.
