Guardians of the Biome visits the Baú indigenous land
To express his gratitude, the leader of the Baú indigenous land decided to invite all agents from a task force involving officers of the Operation Guardians of the Biome - responsible for removing more than 50 individuals from an illegal mining site on their land - to a visit.
On the occasion, Chief Bepdjo Mekragnotire and Chief Panh ô Kayapo stated that they had never received federal authorities on their lands before. In their words: “the community is proud of this approach between the natives and the institutions to combat environmental illicit.”
The multi-agency Op included officers from the Air Force, Federal Police, National Guard, Indian National Foundation, ICMBio. During the visit, natives and governmental agents stated their commitment to work hand in hand and continuously for the preservation of the Amazon.
