Brazilian army carried out a civic and social action in the Amazon
The Brazilian Army’s 16th Jungle Infantry Brigade carried out a civic and social action in the Amazon district of Caiambé, Tefé, state of Amazonas, Northern Brazil, in eight indigenous communities, namely: Tikuna, Kambeba, Kokama, Apurinã, Kanamari, Mayoruna, Miranha and Arara.
At the time, 162 medical and 68 dental consultations were provided, with the distribution of more than 1,300 medicines. In addition to in-office care, the dentistry team carried out oral hygiene orientation activities, guided brushing and fluoride application.
The Brigade's Command Company also conducted social, playful and musical activities with the children. The Army’s goal is to extend it’s institutional care to Brazilians who live in these areas, contributing to their integration and to strengthening of the State's presence.
