Brazilian agribusiness exports hit new record in August
Brazilian agribusiness exports reached a record high last August, totaling US$ 14.81 billion - an increase of 36.4% compared to the same month in 2021. Throughout the year, exports of corn, soy beans/bran, cellulose, fresh beef and in natura chicken meat hit record volumes.
Brazil is the third largest global producer of corn, and the 2021/2022 record crop of 113.3 million tons (+30.1%) led to corn exports of all time high value (US$ 2.03 billion) and volume (7.5 million tons shipped), besides the increase in the domestic availability of the cereal.
Soybean exports reached US$ 949.00 million in August 2022, and results 45.8% higher compared to the US$ 651.08 million exported in the same month of 2021. There has also been an increase of 19,1% in the volume exported. Brazil remains the leading soybean-producing country.
