Brazil invests in environmental education

The federal program Escolas +Verdes (“Greener Schools”) aims to promote sustainability in Brazilian schools, with an initial investment estimated to exceed R$ 300 million. The Program seeks to promote environmental awareness among students through educative action.

The project is set to start installation of R$ 100 million in biodigestors in schools, enabling the production of biogas from organic waste and liquid biofertilizer. This fuel will then be used in the preparation of school meals, replacing the purchase of LPG cylinders.
