The Brazilian government enacted a new Legal Framework for Free-Trade Zones with extensive legislative reform. Companies that install themselves in Free-Trade Zones will have access to specific tax, exchange and administrative treatments.
The new legislation defines Free-Trade Zones as continuous or discontinuous areas of free trade with foreign countries, intended for the installation of companies focused on exports of goods or services.
Free-Trade Zone companies also have tax exemptions for the purchase of machinery, raw materials and inputs used in the production of export goods.
