Brazil advances in access to the OECD
Following the Roadmap for Brazil's Accession to the OECD, the Brazilian government issued the "Initial Memorandum", assessing the degree of alignment in national legislation, policies and practices in the candidate country with the standards established by the Organization.
The assessment results from intense work by 32 assigned areas (trade, investment, digital economy, health, education, environment, nuclear energy, among others), and carried out individually for each of the OECD’s 230 normative instruments regarding Brazil's accession process.
The Memorandum precedes technical discussions within 26 committees and working groups designated by the OECD. The convergence to OECD standards is part of the strategy to strengthen Brazil's international insertion, improve our public policies and encourage structural reforms.
