The Brazilian government works to democratize access to information and promote connectivity for all. Even in the remote Amazon region, 12,000 km of fiber optic networks in 8 infoways are being built, aiming to benefit 10 million people.
Through the Wi-Fi Brasil Program, 14,000 broadband connections were provided, of which 10,000 were in schools, 700 were in health care units and 460 were in indigenous communities.
The government also developed connectivity programs for national parks and ecological reserves, facilitating ecotourism in order to promote environmental awareness. To date, the program has reached 18 national parks, and five conservation units.
